Misato, Saturday 3rd October.
After two consecutive defeats, the Dutch Embassy team had JETRO, another division 2 stalwart, in their sights to kickstart the season.
The rain had fallen for several hours, softening the Misato badlands ground enough for a few areas of the pitch to turn into poodles.
Despite rather bad pitch conditions, both teams approached the game building their game on a thick web of short passes, highlighting good technical skills and condition.
After a fairly even first half, the Embassy notched up their pace a bit pushing JETRO in their last 50 metres. Despite accumulating chances and corner kicks, the Oranje only took the lead with ten minutes ago with power center-forward Casey curling a low shot on the keeper`s left.
With the JETRO boys reeling in shock the Dutch team quickly scored a second goal after a quick series of passes opened up JETRO`s defence.
Three points in the pocket and hopefully a new start for the season.
